What is PassVult?
PassVult is an offline first password manager that stores credentials, two factor codes, secret notes, and loyalty cards entirely on the user's device with AES encryption. There is no cloud sync and no subscription, which is the point of the product. It runs on iOS and Android and is sold as a one time purchase.
Why PassVult works
Cloud password managers create a single trophy target for attackers and an account model that locks users in. PassVult moves the vault back onto the device so a breach at the vendor cannot expose passwords that never left the user's phone. Travel mode and an emergency erase code give users physical control over the vault in higher risk situations like border crossings.
PassVult features
- Local only storage. Passwords, codes, and sensitive notes stay on the device with AES encryption so a vendor breach cannot leak data the vendor never held.
- Built in authenticator. Store and generate two factor codes alongside the matching password so users do not need a separate authenticator app.
- Travel mode. Temporarily lock the full vault behind a travel password so border or customs inspections cannot compel access to the entire credential set.
- Breach checker. Check whether an email address has appeared in known data breaches so users can rotate the affected credentials proactively.
- Bluetooth or WiFi direct sync. Move vault data between two devices over Bluetooth on iPhone or WiFi Direct on Android so users can migrate without ever exposing data to the cloud.
- Emergency erase code. Set a duress code that wipes the vault when entered so users have a last resort against coerced unlocking.
Who PassVult is for
- Privacy focused individuals who refuse to store passwords with a cloud provider after years of breach headlines.
- Frequent international travellers who cross borders with devices and want a vault that can be locked or wiped under duress.
- Journalists, activists, and lawyers handling sensitive sources who need verifiable local only credential storage.
- Crypto holders storing recovery phrases and exchange credentials who treat any cloud sync as an unacceptable risk.
