What is RamenID?

RamenID product thumbnail

RamenID is a student verification and discount service for software companies that want to offer student pricing without checking documents by hand. A student confirms a school email with a 6-digit code, then RamenID can create a single-use discount for one product directly in the merchant's Stripe, Polar, or Dodo Payments account. Merchants can share a hosted verification link or create one link per user through the API, and verification-only flows work without a payment provider.

Why RamenID works

Manual student discounts turn into an inbox job, while reusable coupon codes can escape the intended audience. RamenID ties verification to a recognised school email and creates a coupon for that student inside the merchant's own payment account, with one redemption and a seven-day expiry. It turns a verified student into a controlled checkout discount instead of asking someone to review proof and email a reusable code.

RamenID features

  • School email verification. Students prove access to a recognised school address by entering a 6-digit code sent to that email. RamenID recognises more than 26,000 school and university email domains.
  • Single-use discount creation. RamenID creates the discount directly in Stripe, Polar, or Dodo Payments. Each discount is limited to one product, usable once, and expires after seven days.
  • Hosted pages and API links. Merchants can share one hosted offer link without code or create a unique link for each user through the API. API links work once and expire after seven days.
  • Verification without a discount. The same flow can confirm student status without creating a coupon or connecting a payment provider. RamenID can notify the app through a webhook after verification.
  • Merchant branding and redirects. Verification pages can show the merchant's logo, company name, and short description. After verification, students can be sent to a configured checkout or redirect URL.

Who RamenID is for

  • Software founders offering student pricing who do not want to review uploaded IDs and send coupon codes manually.
  • SaaS teams using Stripe, Polar, or Dodo Payments that want verified student discounts created inside their existing payment account.
  • Developers who want to add student verification to signup or checkout with one API request and a webhook result.
  • Small software teams that need a hosted student offer page without building their own email verification and coupon flow.

Similar micro SaaS ideas you can build

  • Employee perk claim verifier. A tool for companies offering partner perks that verifies a worker through their company email before issuing a one-time voucher. It keeps employee-only offers from spreading as public coupon codes.
  • Partner credit redemption. A claim system for SaaS companies that give credits to customers of selected partner companies. It verifies the claimant's company domain, then releases a single-use credit or checkout benefit without manual approval.
  • Academic access pass. A verification service for research tools and educational software that confirms a university email before granting temporary access to restricted features or resources. It turns eligibility checking into an automatic signup step instead of a support request.
