What is The Brains?
The Brains is a directory of searchable knowledge bases built around founders, CEOs, and investors. Each brain is assembled from that person's public talks, interviews, essays, and posts, then exposed as an MCP server that can connect to Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex. Answers cite their original sources, and the service is free.
Why The Brains works
Searching across a founder's interviews, essays, and talks by hand makes it easy to miss the one useful answer buried across years of material. The Brains turns that public body of work into a searchable knowledge base inside the AI client you already use, with citations back to the source. It brings sourced thinking into the conversation instead of making you hunt across separate posts and videos.
The Brains features
- Searchable individual knowledge bases. Each brain collects public talks, interviews, essays, and posts from one person into a searchable knowledge base.
- MCP access in AI clients. Brains can connect to Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Codex through MCP, so users can query them from an existing AI workflow.
- Source citations in answers. Passages include summaries or short quotes with links to the original source, giving users a path back to the underlying material.
- Free and open source. The service is free, and its code is published under the MIT license.
- Claim and correction flow. Featured people can claim a brain, request corrections, add sources, or ask for removal.
Who The Brains is for
- Founders researching how experienced operators have approached pricing, hiring, product, or other recurring company decisions.
- Investors who want to search a specific founder or executive's public body of work without tracking down each interview or essay separately.
- Builders using Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex who want cited source material available inside their existing AI workflow.
- Founders, CEOs, and investors already featured in the directory who want to verify, correct, or add sources to their own brain.
