What is Keeping?
Keeping is a shared inbox help desk for teams that manage customer or internal requests in Gmail. It adds assignment, ticket statuses, shared notes, collision detection, workflows, and reporting directly to Gmail. Keeping also provides a web portal and mobile access, while replies continue to look like normal emails to the recipient.
Why Keeping works
Shared mailboxes break down when several people can reply but nobody can see who owns the request or whether a teammate is already working on it. Keeping adds assignment, status, notes, and collision detection inside Gmail, so teams can make each request accountable where the email already lives instead of moving the conversation into a separate help desk.
Keeping features
- Assign and track requests. Assign incoming emails to one or more teammates, give each ticket an open, closed, or pending status, and keep an activity history of what happened.
- Prevent double replies. Collision detection shows when another teammate is already working on an email, reducing duplicate responses.
- Automate repetitive routing. Workflows can assign, tag, and process incoming emails automatically. Advanced includes unlimited workflows and Round Robin assignment.
- Measure response performance. Reports cover response time, resolution time, ticket volume, busiest times, and agent performance. Advanced also adds CSAT reporting and CSV exports.
- Connect support to other tools. Integrations include Slack, Shopify, WooCommerce, Zapier, HubSpot, Salesforce, Asana, Jira, ClickUp, and monday.com.
Who Keeping is for
- Customer support teams handling a shared support or help address who need clear ownership without leaving Gmail.
- People Ops and HR teams managing hiring, onboarding, payroll, time off, and employee requests through shared email addresses.
- IT support teams receiving hardware and software requests from staff or students through email.
- Finance teams handling invoices, payment requests, expense reports, and vendor conversations through shared inboxes.
Similar micro SaaS ideas you can build
- Customer promise tracker. A follow up tool for account managers that turns commitments buried in email threads into dated, owned tasks. It surfaces each promise before its due date so a customer commitment cannot disappear when the conversation leaves the top of the inbox.
- Invoice exception queue. A tool for small finance teams that turns incoming invoices into a review queue, assigns unresolved items to an owner, and keeps the vendor conversation attached until the invoice is ready to move forward.
- Onboarding document chaser. A tracker for People Ops that shows which new hire paperwork is complete, what is still missing, and who owns the next action. Employees keep sending documents and questions by email while HR gets a clear completion view instead of manually chasing threads.
